ABOUT

ONE HOPE Conference is a bi-annual conference which brings in urban ministry practitioners and church members to grow and learn together. We believe the best ministry is driven by good Biblical theology. Every two years, we gather to explore the doctrines of our faith. We strive for theological depth, yet keep it simple and accessible. For this reason, it's for theologians and lay people. It's for church members and pastors. For church planters and nonprofit workers. For missionaries and mothers, fathers, youth, and our neighbors. We want to gather everyone together and think about theology and ministry.

How does our theology drive our ministry? What do these old doctrines have to do with life and work in tough neighborhoods? How should theology affect ministry to the least of these?

This year's theme is "Christ Alone”

There is a $10 fee to cover the cost of lunch. Thanks to generous supporters, the conference is very affordable.

See you there!

Why “Christ Alone?”

Does an old doctrine still apply today? Is it relevant for inner city ministry? For the old theologians, anything that would throw shade on the brilliance of Christ was to be rejected. In their day, the church itself had become a means to salvation. Proclamation of salvation by the church was exchanged for salvation found in the church. The church was no longer viewed as a collection of the saved but rather viewed as a dispenser of salvation.

The truth is as much needed today as any day.  “Jesus Only” is not where many look for righteousness. Self-righteousness and self-exaltation rivals Christ Alone. Love for the glory of man rivals love for the glory of Christ. Salvation is not found in self-actualization, fulfilling your dreams, or getting yourself together. Salvation is found in the cross of Christ.

Join us as we explore this doctrine and apply in to ministry in the urban context.

Colossians 2:9: “For in Christ the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily.”
